10 lbs heavier in 2009

Guess I got a little carried away during the holidays. It's tough to turn down all the food and other goodies layed out in front of you. If anything, it gave me some motivation to hit the snowy roads on New Years Day. The toughest part of the ride was trying to keep the water bottle from freezing up. It was a brisk 19 degrees when I left the house that morning. After a few miles, I had warmed up and stayed fairly comfortable for the whole ride. Layering can make or break these rides this time of year. I am getting better at the whole layering game. I tried to ride some of the local rail to trails, but there was just too much snow drifted over them. I rode a few miles before turning off on some of the local back roads. Not much of a route planned for the day. I just pedaled around Oxford exploring some roads I've never been down.

I was pretty good, but I watched it pretty close... I am only up 5 lbs! I took a whole month off and it felt great!

Give me a heads up if you are going to ride on the weekends. Maybe I can get out of the house and go out with you.

15 lbs! ...John...step away from the bags of chips. No worries, I'm sure you'll be in top form by the CX season. I'll try to be more competitive this year. That's if hunting doesn't get in the way again.

Aryn, it definately felt good to get out and put some miles in. It would have been better to have been able to get out and ride with others.

Tom, I usually try to get out for a spin every weekend. It can be tough to nail down a time with all the family events, but I'd be more than happy to have the company. Get me your contact info and I'll give you the heads up next time I head out...

I've gained 7 pounds since I decided to stop training for the Iceman. In fact I only rode 100 miles in November and ZERO in December. I need to make a change here and stop the growth...gotta get back on the bike...
